Rotolok have recently completed the delivery of a further Roundhead Valve destined for the UK’s sole processor of beet sugar.
Designed to act as a control valve in high pressure, dense phase conveying applications the Roundhead Valve has a simple but effective proven design to allow unobstructed material flow.
Featuring precision machined stainless steel cast components the Roundhead Valve is particularly suited to abrasive products as its full bore opening means there are no parts of the dome in the product flow path.
Designed for high pressure applications with up to 8barg internal pressure, an inflatable seal alongside the full machined cast dome ensures uniform seating and airtight sealing. The side shafts that support the dome feature impregnated bush bearings with external lubrication points to simplify maintenance. Lip seals mounted with machined housings protect both the external environment form product leakage and maintain the internal pressure.
The dome is actuated via a simple quarter turn pneumatic actuator and valve mounted limit switches indicate the open/closed positions of the dome.
