Everyone at Rotolok is incredibly proud to congratulate Tilly Bowring on being named Engineering Apprentice of the Year at the Exeter College Apprentice & Employer Awards 2026.
Held at Sandy Park, the annual awards celebrate the achievements of apprentices and employers across a wide range of industries. Simply being nominated was a significant achievement, with an exceptionally high number of engineering apprentices considered for the award.
Tilly was nominated by our Project Engineering Manager, Simon Jago, alongside fellow Rotolok apprentice Leo Hillman, after both achieved distinctions in their respective apprenticeship programmes. Supporting evidence for each nomination was then reviewed by an independent judging panel.
Despite being a Level 2 Welding Apprentice at the time, Tilly was competing against apprentices from both Level 2 and Level 3 programmes across multiple engineering disciplines, including welding, machining, maintenance engineering, electrical engineering and technician apprenticeships.
After careful consideration, the judging panel selected Tilly as the overall winner of the Engineering Apprentice of the Year award. Simon was delighted to be at the ceremony to witness Tilly’s reaction as the winner was announced.
“It was fantastic to see Tilly receive the recognition she deserves. Watching her realise she had won was a very proud moment. Her hard work, commitment and enthusiasm have been evident throughout her apprenticeship, and this award is thoroughly deserved.”
At Rotolok, we are passionate about investing in the next generation of engineers. Apprentices play a vital role in the future of our business, bringing enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a commitment to developing the skills that will support British manufacturing for years to come.
